The Dr. Toby Malichi Institute for Global Impact, in partnership with Global Chamber Indianapolis, is honored to announce its official selection by the U.S. Department of State as the Indianapolis Host Organization for the 2026 Mandela Washington Fellows Professional Development Experience (PDE). This designation follows a rigorous national vetting and due-diligence process and affirms the Institute’s standing as a premier leader in global business diplomacy, international engagement, and cross-cultural leadership development.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), brings exceptional young leaders from across the African Continent to the United States for executive leadership training, professional development, and strategic collaboration. As the selected Host Organization, the Dr. Toby Malichi Institute for Global Impact will inaugurate its first Cohort, marking a historic milestone in the Institute’s mission to advance global impact, strengthen international partnerships, and empower emerging leaders shaping Africa’s future.

The 2026 PDE Cohort will engage with Indiana’s business, civic, academic, and governmental leaders, participate in high-level convenings, and collaborate on initiatives aligned with the Institute’s mission of advancing peace, prosperity, and sustainable global development.
