Bridging the Trade Education Gap
Dr. Toby Malichi Institute for Global Impact recognizes the critical importance of trade education in developing economies. We are committed to addressing the gap in public spending and private philanthropy in this area.
As highlighted by Oxford Economics and the Hinrich Foundation, just 3% of philanthropic spending annually goes toward post-secondary education, with trade policies and regulations receiving a mere 0.03% of private philanthropic spending. Our institute aims to change this paradigm by emphasizing the importance of trade education and trade policy understanding in fostering global economic growth.
We address the critical gaps in trade education and policy understanding by focusing on underrepresented public and private investment areas. With only a fraction of philanthropic spending currently dedicated to post-secondary education and trade policies, our goal is to spotlight and transform these overlooked areas. We believe that economic development begins with informed leaders and social entrepreneurs who understand the nuances of trade.
